Registered Nursing is the process of using knowledge and health restoration, health promotion, disease (illness) prevention, and management of chronic disease to assist individuals and families in successfully adapting and living in a state of high-level wellness. Registered Nurses have a responsibility to be knowledgeable about theories, principles and applications of biological and social sciences.

The program consists of courses, labs and clinical experiences that must be taken in sequence, according to the curriculum plan. Material learned in the classroom is practiced in the laboratory and applied to the care of patients in the clinical setting. Pharmacology, growth and development, nutrition, community health, and nursing principles and skills are integrated into all nursing courses.
